About the Position
Working at the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA helps patients regain movement and manage pain after injuries and illnesses, and/or perform pre-surgical treatments to enhance recovery. The physical therapist assistant treats patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions as directed by the physical therapist. The PTA will record patients' progress and communicate the results of each treatment to the physical therapist.

Completes clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation utilizing TLC’s electronic health record documentation system

Exercises exceptional people skills with proficiency in motivating patients and families to follow treatment regimens through excellent listening, verbal and interviewing skills

Contributes and participates in TLC’s learning culture through training, education, and continuous professional improvement activities

Actively engaged in community prevention and health promotion activities

Patient-centered orientation with a high level of commitment to patient emotional, mental, and physical safety and well-being

Willingness to commit to TLC policies/procedures, professional standards of practice, ethical guidelines, and legal regulations related to billing, legal requirements concerning patient health information privacy and security
Education and Experience Requirements
-
At least two years’ experience working in an outpatient, hospital, or skilled nursing setting as a licensed PTA
-
Associate degree in an APTA or CAPTE approved physical therapy assistant program
-
Current Georgia license for physical therapy assistant
-
Basic Life Support Certification (AHA or RC)
