About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Physical Therapist to join our outpatient clinic in Columbus, GA. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including veterans, active duty members, injured workers, and members of the local community. As a valued team member, you'll play a key role in helping patients regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to meaningful daily activities. What Success Looks Like at TLC

  • Conduct Comprehensive Patient Evaluations:
    Perform thorough musculoskeletal and functional assessments to determine patient needs. Utilize diagnostic tools and evidence-based practices to establish accurate baselines and identify impairments, functional limitations, and goals tailored to each individual.

  • Develop and Implement Individualized Treatment Plans:
    Design custom rehabilitation programs based on clinical findings, patient goals, and best practice guidelines. Treatments may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, modalities, and functional mobility training.

  • Deliver High-Quality, Compassionate Care:
    Provide hands-on treatment and patient education with a focus on empowering individuals to take an active role in their recovery. Ensure every interaction reflects professionalism, empathy, and a deep commitment to patient outcomes.

  • Document Thoroughly and Accurately:
    Maintain detailed and timely clinical documentation in accordance with Georgia practice standards, insurance billing requirements, and federal regulations (Medicare, VA, workers’ compensation, etc.).

  • Coordinate with Referring Providers and Case Managers:
    Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, workers’ compensation adjusters, VA liaisons, insurers and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and timely updates on progress.

  • Promote Wellness and Injury Prevention:
    Educate patients on posture, ergonomics, and activity modifications to prevent re-injury. Lead or assist with injury prevention screenings and health promotion events in the community when applicable.

  • Collaborate with a Multidisciplinary Team:
    Work closely with fellow staff to deliver seamless, team-based care. Participate in case reviews, clinical huddles, and ongoing quality improvement efforts.

  • Stay Current with Clinical Best Practices:
    Participate in continuing education and leverage professional development funding to stay abreast of new techniques, technologies, and evidence-based protocols. Share learnings with the team to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Support a Positive Clinic Culture:
    Help maintain a welcoming, respectful, and organized environment for both patients and team members. Uphold our values of integrity, accountability, service, and community.

  • Willingness to commit to Therapies Leading Care policies/procedures, professional standards of practice and ethical guidelines, and State and Federal legal regulations related to billing, legal requirements concerning patient health information privacy and security

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program

  • Active Georgia Physical Therapy License

  • At least two years’ experience working in an outpatient, hospital, or skilled nursing setting as a licensed Physical Therapist

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for patient-centered care

  • Experience using electronic medical records and billing systems

  • Basic Life Support Certification (AHA or RC)
